Pharmceutics

The Department of Pharmceutics provides strength in both education and research. Members of the department include faculty, graduate students, and staff who are engaged in multi-disciplinary Pharmceutical research and teaching at the graduate and postgraduate level.

Pharmceutics is designed to impart knowledge on various aspects of drug design, development, testing, and safe and effective use of drugs/medicines including drug delivery systems. The department focuses on unique concepts to develop skillful process (es)/techniques for designing, procuring and evaluating various kinds of drugs and drug delivery systems. The Department has a rich tradition of innovation and advancement of health through new knowledge. Our faculty members have made significant contributions in enhancing drug delivery. In addition to teaching, all faculty members are involved in research projects at UG and PG level. Research in the Pharmceutics Department encompasses basic, applied and clinical investigations in Pharmcokinetics/ bioPharmceutics, Pharmceutical biotechnology and drug delivery, herbal medicine.

While students choose one particular area of Pharmceutical research, they will be exposed to many other aspects of the Pharmceutical sciences in order to round out their educational experience.

The Department of Pharmceutical Analysis interacts with industries and government organizations like IICT Hyderabad for providing training to the postgraduate students.

The department applying for grants for support of research projects to funding agencies like DST, AICTE, ICMR etc.

The Department was started in 2012 to afford a spotlight for Pharmceutical Analysis at Geethanjali College of Pharmacy. The department is provided with eminent faculty and researchers. Department of Pharmceutical analysis & Quality Assurance is a central part of all the post graduate departments. The principal focus of the department is to development and application of analytical methods and techniques relevant to Pharmceutical sciences. The Pharmceutical Analysis laboratory is closely associated with other departments of the Institution.

The Department is well equipped with modern analytical instruments and other facilities. A sophisticated central instrument lab is also under development to cater the needs of analytical assistance to students and faculty. The department involves in various research activities like development and validation of novel analytical methods by using UFLC & UV-visible spectrophotometer. The faculty members have been attending various seminars, workshops and conferences at National and International levels. They have also been presenting and publishing their research findings in National/International journals.


Regularity Affairs

Regulatory affairs (RA), also called government affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as Pharmceuticals, medical devices, energy, banking, telecom etc. Regulatory affairs also has a very specific meaning within the healthcare industries (Pharmceuticals, medical devices, biologics and functional foods).

Regulatory affairs (medical affairs) professionals (aka regulatory professionals) usually have responsibility for the following general areas:

  • Ensuring that their companies comply with all of the regulations and laws pertaining to their business.
  • Working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and personnel on specific issues affecting their business. i.e. working with such agencies as the Food and Drug Administration or European Medicines Agency (Pharmceuticals and medical devices); The Department of Energy or the Securities and Exchange Commission (banking).
  • Advising their companies on the regulatory aspects and climate that would affect proposed activities. i.e. describing the "regulatory climate" around issues such as the promotion of prescription drugs and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
