One of the rapidly growing technologies, Information Technology is playing a deliberate role in every organization and alights its foot in every walk of our life which also drives to meet emerging technology in the present and future era. This branch also enlightens students with all necessary technical and practical knowledge required by the software industry. Also imparts training for placements which makes the students also to fulfil it for higher studies. Department of Information Technology has been restarted in the year 2019 with an intake of 60 students. The Department has highly committed faculty who graduated from various reputed institutions. The IT Program was earlier accredited by NBA, New Delhi before it was discontinued. Department is headed by Dr.K.Srinivas has 20 years of experience in teaching. The Department has one Professor, two Associate Professors and four Assistant Professors. The faculty is well experienced and is into research, which allows us to drive students to a correct path of education. It has well-equipped laboratories to impart practical training and good practice to students and has strong external linkages with Industry, R&D establishments etc.

All the faculty members are encouraged to participate in Faculty Development Programmes, Conferences, Workshops, Publication of Research Papers and active involvement in R & D activity.

The department of Information Technology endeavors to bring out technically competent, socially responsible technocrats through continuous improvement in teaching learning processes and innovative research practices.

Mission of the Department

Inculcate into the students, the technical and problem solving skills to ensure their success in their chosen profession.
Impart the essential skills like teamwork, lifelong learning etc. to the students which make them globally acceptable technocrats.
Facilitate the students with strong fundamentals in basic sciences, mathematics and Information Technology areas to keep pace with the growing challenges in field.
Enrich the faculty with knowledge in the frontiers of the Information Technology area.

B.Tech Programme in Information Technology

  1. Exhibit sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Information Technology and apply practical experience with programming techniques to solve real world problems.
  2. To inculcate professional behavior with strong ethical values, leadership qualities, innovative thinking and analytical abilities into the student.
  3. To empower the student with the qualities of effective communication, team work, continues learning attitude, leadership and proficiency in cutting edge technologies needed for a successful Information Technology professional.
  4. Imbibe sound knowledge in mathematics, basic sciences, first principles to form a strong base for the student to keep up with the growing challenges in the field of Information Technology.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES:

The Program outcomes of B.Tech - IT department are as below

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
